SP-8 CYLINDER HOUSE INGCO (RH150028) D-57
🧰 What It Is
The Cylinder House is the structural housing or casing that supports and encloses the cylinder (impact chamber) and related components within the rotary hammer’s internal mechanism. In a rotary hammer, the impact chamber is where the piston moves back and forth to generate percussive force — and the cylinder house provides a rigid support structure for these dynamic parts.
The Cylinder House may also be called the impact chamber housing, cylinder cover, or piston chamber housing in some diagrams.
⚙️ Technical Function
The SP‑8 Cylinder House serves several key roles:
1. Structural Support
Surrounds and secures the cylinder (SP‑22) and keeps it aligned with the piston and crank mechanism.
Maintains correct spacing and alignment under heavy hammering loads.
2. Mechanical Protection
Protects internal parts like the piston, cylinder, seals, springs, and related rings from dust, debris, and physical damage.
Keeps critical moving parts enclosed so debris from drilling does not interfere with operation.
3. Guiding and Sealing Surface
Provides fixed mounting points and guide surfaces for pistons or rods.
Works with seals and O‑rings to maintain internal air pressure and reduce leakage in the impact chamber.
4. Load Distribution
Distributes forces generated by the hammer action across the tool’s internal structure, helping resist deformation and wear.
