  • Twist drill bit with a diameter of 3.17 mm, made from M35 high-speed steel (HSS) with cobalt alloy for enhanced hardness and wear resistance.

  • Overall length: approximately 65 mm; flute (cutting) length: 36 mm.

  • Tip angle: 135° split-point for easier self-centering and reduced “walking” at the start of drilling.

    • Uses / Advantages:

    • Suitable for drilling precise small holes (3.17 mm) in steel, alloys, aluminium, brass, plastics, and other materials.

    • M35 HSS offers better heat and wear resistance than standard HSS, making it suitable for harder metals.

    • The split-point tip allows drilling without a pilot hole and provides clean starts on metal surfaces.

    • Durable for repeated workshop, fabrication, or light industrial use.

    • Limitations / Notes:

  • Small diameter (3.17 mm) — ideal for light-duty or small-bore drilling, not for large holes.

  • Requires proper drilling speed and cooling/lubrication when working on hard metals to prevent overheating and reduce bit life.

  • For very hard, thick, or heavy-duty materials, carbide-tipped or specialized drill bits may perform better.
